Poachers kill elephant at Kothiatoli range in Nagaon, remove tusks

May 1, 2017 - Poachers killed an elephant at Aahutoli of Kathiatoli range of the Doboka Reserve forest in Nagaon and decamped with its tusks.

It may be mentioned, the elephant had strayed into human habitat on Sunday.

However, the forest department officials had driven away the elephant barely kilometers away from the human habitat instead of the forest areas. Locales alleged that apathy of the forest officials was responsible for the killing of the elephant by poachers.
